DEACONS PRE-ORDINATION PROGRAM
The Deacons Pre-Ordination Program consists of the following 3 Components:
- Memorization
- Knowledge of Rites and Church Ethics
- Practical Training
❖ After completion of the Deacons Pre-Ordination Program, the candidate must pass the Qualifying Exam. Once successful, the candidate will receive a certificate of Completion of the program and will be entitled to be ordained by the bishop.

2. Knowledge of Rites and Church Ethics
- General conduct of the deacon: fasting before the liturgy, standing quietly in church, facing the east, entering the church, entering and moving in the altar, taking the blessing of the relics and clergy, etc.
- Knowledge of basic things in the church: building, oblation bread (korban), censor, icons, candles, iconostasis, etc.
- How to present the tunic and folding and cleaning of the tunic.
3. Practical Training
- The practice of the learned material during class time
- Regular and Early Participation in the Evening Raising of Incense and Holy Liturgy for 2 consecutive months before the Qualifying Exam
